Here’s how to order:
1. Complete a short questionnaire about your business (below).
Tell me about your business or organization, its goals, and how you most envision me helping.
I’ll also ask for a few examples of your business’s usual writing, so I can make sure to be consistent. (Point me toward online articles or blog posts or upload customer materials—whatever matches the style and voice of what you’re trying to accomplish.)
2. Tell me your word count.
To ensure accurate invoicing and avoid delays, please carefully calculate your word count. Include all titles, subheadings, charts, and anything else you would like edited.
(Do not include our correspondence or your supporting materials in your word count—just the words you want my eyeballs on!)
3. Upload your document.
Please make sure the file has no previously tracked changes or editing marks (unless they’re meant specifically for me), and please make sure to include all necessary resources. Also please make sure your document is in one of the following formats:
4. Agree to the terms and conditions and make payment.
After completing the questionnaire and uploading your document(s), agree to the terms and conditions and submit your payment.
5. I’ll reach out in person and confirm everything.
The world is a big place; we may not share a time zone (or, if we do, sleeping schedules). You’ll receive an immediate confirmation of your order, but you won’t receive a fake auto-responder from me–I don’t think that’s right.
Instead, at my very earliest convenience, I will send you an email (personally!) to confirm that everything looks fine (because of course it does), and if I have any questions or issues, that’s when I’ll let you know.
And whenever I confirm this with you—definitely within one business day of your order, but often shortly after I receive your email—you can expect the edited document back to you in one calendar week.

I see that you usually charge between $399 and $699 for editing short business documents. What happens if you find that I need a deeper level of editing than the $399* I paid?
Long story short: I give it to you anyway.
Here’s the full version:
The total cost for any editing project depends on several factors, including:
- the length of the post
- the complexity of the post
- whether extensive research is necessary
- whether English is the author’s first language
- the logical flow of the piece
- whether extensive structural revisions, sentence-level editing, and/or rewriting is needed
But you don’t care about the nuances of how freelance business editors calculate their rates, and you don’t have time to worry about what you need. You just need it done.
For new clients, your $399* covers all possible types of editing, from copyediting up to structural editing and any combination—whatever type of work I think is necessary to really help your post connect with its readers.

So what’s the catch?
There’s no catch! The only requirement (not a catch!) is that you send me a complete blog post. This is not a copywriting service.

Until we work together, neither of us knows what to expect.
After this first project, once I’ve had a chance to get to know your business, your goals, and your writing needs, we can personalize your projects according to their individual needs and adjust the pricing if necessary
But for now, the base amount will get you everything I’ve got: structural editing, copyediting, and even basic fact-checking (though you are responsible for including any sources you wish to cite, and for properly attributing your work).
In any case, my hope is that any work I’ve done has made you look at your business’s writing—and how it relates to your growth—in new and useful ways.
